In the 1980’s, Hamilton began stretching its Khaki Field offerings. Why not? They had unparalleled success with this line of watches. They downsized their diving watch and produced a limited test run. Hamilton had little success with that product. At the time, women had an interest in fashion watches and retro looks. We had yet to reach the blue jean era.
You won’t find many of these ladies Khaki watches. They’re called 8587B – not exactly a name that would grab a woman’s attention. Still, Hamilton loaded it with features:
- Luminous Hands & Markers
- Mineral Glass Crystal
- 12-hour Dial
- Arabic Numerals
- Calendar
- Rotating Bezel
- 660 Foot Water Resistance
I bought this watch from the original owner and found it in excellent cosmetic condition. I replaced the band with a new strap similar to the original. I tested the quartz movement and of course, the ETA quartz movement kept exact time. I also replaced the existing crystal.
It’s rare and in my collection waiting for Christmas when I plan to give it as a gift to a pretty young lady or sell it on eBay.
