1927 Hamilton Tonneau Sale Price

This watch sold for $52 on December 9th, 2013 at auction. That’s an indication of the market for vintage Hamilton watches. A seller should part the watch out and sell it in pieces at that price. A restored dial, if you can find one, would cost more than this watch brought. It’s important to know the market, especially if you’re a collector or restorer.

This is a Engraved Circa 1927 Hamilton Tonneau. The case is 14K White Gold Filled in what jewelers called a 25 year Fahy Case. The 25 year designation meant that the gold would not wear to the  brass for a guaranteed period of time.

This watch was in mint condition.  It has an Art Deco design. I upgraded the 987 movement to an “A” model to stabilize it.

You can see a thorough description of the model at this page.
