This watch sold for $52 on December 9th, 2013 at auction. That’s an indication of the market for vintage Hamilton watches. A seller should part the watch out and sell it in pieces at that price. A restored dial, if you can find one, would cost more than this watch brought. It’s important to know the market, especially if you’re a collector or restorer.
This is a Engraved Circa 1927 Hamilton Tonneau. The case is 14K White Gold Filled in what jewelers called a 25 year Fahy Case. The 25 year designation meant that the gold would not wear to the brass for a guaranteed period of time.
This watch was in mint condition. It has an Art Deco design. I upgraded the 987 movement to an “A” model to stabilize it.
