In 1926, the American Magazine ran a series of Hamilton watch ads. The photo on the left is from the original ad. The ad announced the “new” Tonneau model wrist watch for women. It had a 987 movement and men can wear it today. It’s a large watch. This ad also read: “Hamilton Wrist Watches come in silk ribbon models, and strap models. Cases are plain or engraved in white or green gold, 14K and filled. Prices $48 and $60.”
I’ve seen this watch up for auction on eBay and purchased three for approximately the same price as Hamilton sold it in 1926. Originally, I purchased the watches for the movements. I still have the cases for two and the third is strapped with a new old stock leather band that I found in England. It’s a remarkable watch.
