Hamilton Auto Date Courier Self-Winding

Many historians place 1969 as a line of demarcation for the real Hamilton or the old Hamilton and the Swiss  Company with the Hamilton name. That’s when the Hamilton Watch Company completely ceased its American manufacturing operations. In 1971, Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère (SSIH) purchased the Hamilton brand and utilized the Hamilton name for a number of branding efforts, including numerous quartz watches in the 1980s.

This self-winding, day date man’s watch came out of the factory that made Tissot and Omega watches. That company was owned by  Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère (SSIH).
Auto Date Courier
It’s called Auto Date Courier. The case is yellow gold electroplate. I owned this watch and consider it one of the ugliest watches I ever owned. Now, I wish I had it back. That will teach me to hold on to every watch I buy now.
In 1976, the watch sold for $150.
