Hamilton Watch Company pioneered brand marketing and few, if any, academics have mentioned the Lancaster based company. Beginning with the “Watch of Railroad Accuracy”, “Explorers (Admiral Byrd) “, “Pilots”, “Military”, “Corporate Retirement”, “Military”, the marketing department used a number of strategies to create an emotional connection with consumers.
One of the most successful Hamilton marketing strategies dealt with film. Who knows how far back they went. At least we know, it couldn’t have come earlier than 1927.
Hamilton’s film strategy became a model for companies like Apple Computer Corp. You’ve had to notice those laptops in nearly every movie produced in the last 30 years.
Professors cite Proctor and Gamble as the company that formalized brand management. You wonder if politics has something to do with making P&G the innovators 60 years after Hamilton. Or maybe the business schools lack innovation.

S.W.A.T. is a 2003 American action-crime-thriller film directed by Clark Johnson, and is based on the 1975 television series of the same name. It stars Samuel L.
