WW II Hamilton Bomber Timer

You may want to keep an eye on the offerings of this World War II timepiece. The photo below on the right is how Hamilton produced the watch. Unfortunately, Sellers will re-engineer the watch by refinishing the face so it appears vertically as you can see in the photo on the left. Next, they use button fasteners to mount  a band onto the watch. This manipulation makes the watch appear as if it was worn by members of a flight crew, which it wasn’t.

Re-engineered

The WW II Hamilton Bomb Timer also known as the Fairchild Camera Gun timepiece used a 980 17 Jewel Hamilton movement. The Navy specified a Keystone Case and utilized a Fairchild  CG – 16 Camera. Fairchild placed the Hamilton into the camera and used it for training.

During simulations the camera recorded shots at the enemy aircraft.  They determined successful hits within fractions of a second. The 980 – Fairchild allowed command to determine which gunner landed the first successful shot.
