Hamilton CLD Circa 1950

1951 Lange
Hamilton claimed its cld principle was a simple application of  friction between the crystal, gasket, case bezel and case back, which they tested to see if the approach guarded against dirt and moisture. The crown stem assembly was also sealed with gaskets. Some claim that it was Hamilton’s effort to build a waterproof watch. I have seen no documentation to that effect and I have looked. Regardless, they set a new standard for the watch industry and propelled themselves ahead of their competition.

Hamilton 747 Movement

Hamilton cld came with the 747 movement.
