Hamilton Medwick – 1938 with 987A movement

The Medwick looked at Hamilton’s driver and wondered why it lacked a crown on top instead of to the side. After all, Hamilton designed the Medwick for driving.

Purchasers paid $40 for this watch in 1938. You can find this watch selling for $490 today. Of course, it’s restored at that price with a Butler finish to the dial, a curved mineral crystal, 18K applied hands and numerals. If you mistake it for a lady’s watch, you’ve bought into the modern notion that watches for men have to look like a big ole Rolex.
